Welcome to Walnut Creek Village

Walnut Creek Village is a member-supported, non-profit, community-based network. We provide independent living resources, referrals and social connections for those of us who wish to remain in our homes and “age in community”. We serve Walnut Creek, Alamo and immediately adjacent sections of Pleasant Hill and Concord, California.

Members will need only one phone call to the Village to connect to an array of services, service referrals or events, including:

  • Volunteer-based services, such as transportation, grocery shopping, light housekeeping or home maintenance, pet care, computer/technical assistance and friendly visitors
  • Concierge-style referrals to screened professional service providers such as handymen or contractors, gardeners, in-home care providers or physical therapists, attorneys and bookkeepers or accountants
  • Social, cultural, educational and wellness events and activities, including lectures and seminars, outings to concerts and plays, walking groups and exercise classes, special interest-based groups (from cooking to card games) and volunteer opportunities to serve fellow members

Walnut Creek Village is part of the  Village Movement,  a nationwide network of like-minded communities who have formed Villages to help our communities become more age-friendly and supportive of independent elders. Currently there are more than 200 Villages up and running, with 150 additional Villages in development in the U.S.
